| This group concentrates on translational research in chronic (motor neuron degeneration such as seen in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and hereditary motor neuropathy) and acute (brain ischemia such as seen in cerebrovascular disease) neurodegeneration. To reach this goal it is embedded in the neuromuscular and cerebrovascular program of the department of Neurology at the University Hospital Leuven.
